Overview

Environments designed with intention, crafted to stand the test of time and establish roots and focused on community, health and wellness, and the arts.

The Glass House is the beating heart of Bergen. It captures life’s vitality and draws it into its core.

Grounded by community, health, wellness, and the arts, a sense of belonging is established within Bergen’s Glass House; the source of equilibrium between the East and West residential wings. Monumental in stature, the totem staircase is a portrait of function and form. This principal architectural feature serves as the building’s backbone, providing residents with interconnected access to a multitude of spaces that create a sense of home.

At the heart of the property is the Glass House, an airy architectural atrium with a monumental concrete totem staircase at its center. The multiple levels build organically, and can be accessed from the building’s core.

The Foundation

Home to Bergen's four core amenity suites—the Wellness Suite, Creative Suite, Fitness Suite, and Entertainment Suite—The Foundation level is spread across the entirety of the Glass House’s cellar.

Ground Floor

The Central Point of Access for all of Bergen

Whether you arrive via Bergen street and approach the warm glow of the double-height Glass House, or travel through Dean Street Park crossing the entry bridge, the ground floor is the primary access point to nearly all of the property. Through the central totem stair in the Glass House, decor shifts and complements the activities with the changing amenity levels, the soft ambience of the spa at the base of the building moves towards more saturated tonality, the intimacy of the jewel-like cinema and cultural space starts to level out and broaden. The almost cerebral and spiritual landscape of the roof garden acts as a transition from interior to exterior, where the possibilities of endless horizons and picture-perfect sunsets into dawn are at once a dream and a typical day.

Bergen is all about indoor-outdoor balance, and the rooftop park is the ultimate expression of this.

BKLYN CLAY was founded by Jennifer Waverek in 2018 with the intention of elevating ceramic art by providing modern spaces and processes for an ancient art form. BKLYN CLAY has two NYC locations, in Prospect Heights and Tribeca, as well as a line of ceramic goods called BKLYN CLAY Made. BKLYN CLAY studios offer memberships, semester-long courses, one-time classes, and an extensive shop for ceramic art materials, goods, and merchandise. The membership waitlist is long and classes sell out quickly.

BKLYN CLAY simplifies and elevates the process of working in ceramics by providing access to ceramics facilities and education to anyone from children to adults, novices to practicing artists. BKLYN CLAY aims to streamline the processes within the beautifully designed Bergen Brooklyn Ceramics Studio. Allowing residents to learn about and work with clay occasionally, or to continue their ceramic practice close to home.

Zach Mangan
Kettl Tea, Tea Consultant

Kettl began from a sincere desire to make the finest teas of Japan available to customers throughout the world. In 2010, after working for Japan's largest green tea company, owner Zach Mangan took a solo one month trip to Japan and realized immediately that the freshest and most delicious products stay within Japan's domestic market. The supply chain in Japan is short and customers more often than not drink fresh, local tea. Driven by a simple desire to shrink the supply chain and to connect these incredible teas with a wider audience, Zach began a two year process to develop relationships with several of Japan's most notable tea producers. Mangan is known throughout Japan as an authority on Japanese tea. He has contributed to radio, books, and magazines and has developed the tea menus for chefs holding a combined thirty-nine Michelin stars.
